STRYO STORM MACHINE

In the MFA DESI 612 class, Spring semester at VCUQatar, students were introduced to the SEMSEM BUT DIFFERENT notion of customization from a production point of view. The aim of this studio was to design an idea of a machine that produces the same product, but due to the human's interaction to it, the customization happens.
I experimented with Styrofoam to be my material that I apply in the machine to customize 3D printed rings, that I designed with Rhino and used the MakerBot to print them. The body movement controls the amount of Styrofoam that will be applied to the rings.
The machine was designed, fabricated, and documented by Hadeer Omar.
